Usually only available to large distilleries in bulk, we are
making Gold Stone Mill premium distillery grains available in smaller
quantities for other uses.
Oats are sometimes used in place of wheat or rye to soften
and balance the sweetness in a mash bill with lots of corn. Oats have a long
history in brewing, only more recently have distillers been experimenting with
this unique grain and its effects on whiskey grain bills. Some experts note that
it can impact the mouthfeel and body of the final product, making for a fuller
whiskey. Oats can add this complexity even if they make up only a small amount
of your mash bill.
These premium oats
from Gold Stone Mill LLC are grown in North America, and have been expertly
cleaned to reduce dust and dirt, husks and stalks. Less impurities often
produces a higher yield in the still -- dirt and chaff don't produce any
fermentable sugar, after all.
Gold Stone Mill offers both whole grain, if you wish to mill
it yourself, or a fine grind option if you want to skip the milling and get
straight to production.
Larger volume (200lb+) may result in price breaks, please
